I think different guys have different things that get them going. And of course, your spouses idea of hot is always going to outrank ours wink

Thats not to say you can only dress as per spousal requirements. If DH had his way, I'd wear basically a loin cloth at all times. Apart from those moments he wanted something out of the lacy draw.....

So while I was away I gained a little weight. Not a big surprise since i pretty much do every single freaking time I go on holiday mad On the plus side, its about 4 pounds less than anticipated, and just by returning to my normal diet, Ive lost about half of it already dancing

Hey fellow goddesses. This looks like fun.

I would describe myself as an inconsistent goddess. Unwashed hair for days, pretty slack on the whole shaving legs/armpits thing and then a sudden flurry of tidying myself up, but alas it never lasts. I wrestle with rebelling against ideals of femininity and the pressure to be this or that. And yet I enjoy looking good too. I started an exercise routine 4 months ago that I have actually stuck to. Sold my car so I have to push bike everywhere. And gave up smoking at the same time. Doing these things is a form of self-love and care, something I have been terrible at my entire life. In all areas of my life.

I'm 43 and I want to feel strong and healthy, and just like myself really.

And I'm terrible at shopping. Hate malls and buying clothes and then get so desperate for something to wear, that I'm forced to go in and get something. Doesn't help that my job does not require dressing up at all. I know what suits me, but I wish someone would just turn up with a bunch of clothes they know I would look good in, and then Im done.lol

I buy a lot of my stuff on trademe. Its more affordable for a start

Google helps. I looked up some 'dress me' sites looked over the recommendations. I also look at whats currently trendy but simple as well. I guess I'll have to relook at some of those since I've changed type and lost weight. Winter is so easy - Jeans, cute boots, and a nice top and your good to go laugh

Hey Lil,

Yup.Trademe is good for that. Coming up summer of course so can't wait for that <insert sarcasm>.

My friend has all these different pics of clothes and shoes on pinterest. So anything she likes she adds it, and then she started to see what her style was, and then would go look for similar on TM. Great idea, but I'm too lazy to look for pics razz

Never gets that hot here where I live not far from Wellington. I feel like my throats been cut if it gets to 28. lol. We managed to go back to the states last year in one of the hottest summers they've had in years. Chicago was 103 the day we arrived!! Fahrenheit of course, but still bloody hot. Hated it!

And that's great if you feel better being lighter. Makes the thought of summer not quite so onerous aye?

I feel loads better. Ive never been really big and I am very short, so a little additional weight goes a long way.

Feeling VERY goddess-y today, bought my first ever VS nighty AND it has full spousal enthusiastic approval smile

Hey fellow Goddesses, been pretty quiet around here. How are you all feling about the upcoming holiday season and all the EATING that entails?

Anyone done anything particulary goddess-y? I painted my toenails. Sadly, thats about it. My big goddess moment will be when I will go in for a bra fitting in one weeks time provided I get the go ahead from my surgeon. I get to find out what size the new me is grin

Question for goddesses with large .....asserts smile

How much movement do you have in a sports bra? I've never had to deal with this before. I've just resumed exercise and Im finding the movement more than I had expected. I tried putting a crop top as well but still didn't feel solidly locked into place if you get me. Whats the normal here?

Oh Lil I am so stuffed from all the food here! So that's a good reminder to get out there and get moving.

One of the ladies who worked at the gym here had a similar problem, and said what worked for her was to wear two bras. I've done that before too but have asthma and it makes me feel like it's harder to breathe so I stopped.

This looks like a good article

I am not sure I qualify as "large," but I ALWAYS wear an underwire bra and one of those spandexy shelf bra tops when I exercise. Kind of the same idea NED was saying I guess - double support. And nothing makes them completely motionless lol.

I am proud to say O weighed at the gym this morning and gained ZERO. I didn't lose this week, but I didn't gain. Waha!

I've lost 5 lbs in the last month. Just wekghed this am. So happy.

As to the bra situation. I've got nothing. Can't stand the constriction of super tight sports bras, have a lot of problems with underwire chafing, and the bouncing about can actually leave me bruised. I stick to low impact activities only andjust avoid the problem.

My mom told me as a kid, underwires are just for folks who don't know they make bras without them. Don't ever buy them. I do have two but they are only for very short term, like 3 hours in the evening going out to dinner.

I got some good advice to get sports bras at like Walmart or Target where they are pretty inexpensive. Then I can get the top of the line and it's not too pricey. But still like Miranda I find them too constrictive to wear for too long. So I change into something lighter when I get home.

The main reason I wear underwire is because most of the non-underwire that I have seen that are actually supportive are ugly as sin....and I like pretty. I must be a tough old gal cause I have never been in pain from an underwire lol.

I love Soma bras, but they are kind of expensive. Most people don't have the right size bra. I suggest going to one of those old department stores where they still do fittings. Most of the time the cup is too big and the band is too small. Our egos don't like smaller cups and bigger bands lol. Also, always turn around and look at it from the back. If pudge is sticking out....sorry, hon, ya need a bigger band. And use those strap adjusters....lotsa women hang instead of float, and that makes shirts and clothes look...well...sad and old ladyish.

Oh I've been fitted and not by VS either. By an actual shop but they told me not to be too married to that size cause it can vary by manufacturer. I am right around a 40B. Do I 'like' that? Uh no! Id much rather say I was a 34D. Sounds way sexier. But not what is gonna fit me right at this point. That is what I wore 20 years ago.

I wore a 32 C for most of my adult life, except right after the babies, during which time I was a 38DD because I was a nursing factory. Then I was a 38C or B.

Now I am a 36 C and feel very nice about that smile

Yeah but 40B just sounds plain weird. It sounds like I would be flat but I'm actually very full breasted. Lots of cleavage. It is also a hard size to find.

i agree with doubling up on the sports bras (wear two!) ... or sizing down to get a tighter/compression type fit. also, not sure what type of sports bra you are currently wearing, but you might want to consider getting one that is suited for a high-impact sport (will control bounce much better).

I ordered my NYE dress today (casual this year) and some booties and cable socks to wear with it!

ETA: also took advantage of all the great "free gifts" with a makeup purchase at the beauty counters yesterday!

Tried the two bra trick - brilliant! A lot less jiggle.

I cant do the tighter bra thing since I am not allowed to compressed them much for another 6 weeks. I've only just switched from Ahh bras to nomal underwire ones this weekend.

Now just need to get back into exercise so I regain my previous level of fitness... last night i did 30 mins of aerobics and ended up lying on the floor gasping. Not a pretty sight laugh
