I rarely watch TV. Hate beholding myself to the times that a show is on, enduring the commercials and I consider most of what is on as dreck anyway.

That said, I have a few favorites and thanks to my Ipad and a simple piece to hook it up to play off my TV as well as giving up my cable subscription and instead subscribing to certain shows via the Ipad, I have not only reduced my TV bill drastically, but now enjoy commercial free viewing WHEN I want.

The shows I follow:

Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Dexter

Shows I've watched and want to catch up on current seasons when I have the time/inclination:

Weeds
Burn Notice
The Good Wife
Revenge
Boardwalk Empire
Downton Abbey

Shows I want to watch but don't have time:

Homeland.

How about everyone else?

Oh, I *always* make time for college football...LIVE!

I've been watching Missing via Netflix.

Thanks to a trip in May, I've now been watching White Collar.

I adore the Good Wife. I love the cast and all around it's an excellent show. Michael J. Fox is frequently a guest star and he's terrific.

I'm officially on the Mad Men bandwagon (thanks to all the info from you, OH!).

I used to watch Weeds and Dexter but got tired of both. Plus, I don't subscribe to HBO anymore.

My two silly summer indulgent shows are Common Law and Royal Pains. Common Law is sort of a "buddy cop" show but it's entertaining and the cops are rather enjoyable to look at, lol! Royal Pains is sort of soapy and corny about a concierge medical practice in the Hamptons. Neither are serious and you can watch an episode here or there without feeling lost.

Hands down the best television being produced right now is Louis on FX. It's hilarious and brilliant.

I watch Weeds and Dexter (Showtime, not HBO) on my Ipad via the SHOanytime app. It's cheaper to add the subscription to my cable package ($6.99/mo) than buy the episodes for $2 each or $25 for the season.

Season 5 sucked IMO, but maybe I'll have a different opinion when Netflix gets it and I can watch it all the way through without commercial breaks or waiting a week between episodes.

I decided to watch Breaking Bad that way this season and it's been very enjoyable.

BTW, CG if you haven't discovered BB yet, I urge you to watch. This is the last season. Hey, I didn't steer you wrong on Mad Men, did I?

Sorry, Showtime is what I meant. Nope, your didn't steer me wrong on Mad Men. Although even if the show stunk I would probably still watch to swoon over the sets and clothing.

I've seen a few episodes of Breaking Bad but I have no clue what season. My neighbor is watching it on Netflix and I happen to be over during one of her marathon watching sessions. I did like it but was totally lost and would like to see it from the beginning. The episodes I saw were about the wife going to see a divorce attny and having an affair with her boss. The lead character was getting fired from his job as a teacher. And he gave his wife a bag of money. That is all I know, lol!

I haven't seen it myself but everybody I know who watches Homeland really seems to like it.

As far as network shows go I am really looking forward to Parenthood and the Good Wife returning.

None of the new shows appeal to me much. I did check out the new Matthew Perry sitcom and will probably give it a try. I've always found him to be really quirky and funny.

I'm addicted to Louie, and never miss it.

Is this season over for Louie? It wasn't on last week. IIRC from last year it picked up again in January but this run seemed short.

Louie is still going strong, at least here. Maybe it's not so popular in NY. LOL!

Just started watching Homeland on ShoAnytime.

CG, start with the pilot for Breaking Bad. It's one of those show you can't pick up on in the middle.

Oh, I left out Arrested Development as one of my Netflix faves.

I loved S1-4 of Mad Men. Way too much Megan Draper in S5. Normally I wouldn't care (Betty Draper got a lot of screen time when she was married to Don) but IMO, Jessica Pare can't act her way out of a paper bag. January Jones isn't all that great either, but the Betty character fit her well and Jon Hamm did all the heavy lifting in their scenes anyway, so it was good watching. No amount of heavy lifting could rescue poor Jessica. She was way out of her league with the likes of Hamm, Slattery, Moss and most awesome in S5, Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan. And all the focusing on Megan took screen time away from the others I mentioned.

OH - do you ever watch Inside the Actors Studio? It's on Bravo. A while back they had the cast of Mad Men on. It was interesting.

Did you know the man that plays Pete is really a hippy in real life that got rid of all his possessions, including his toilet and all mirrors in his house, and lives a very alternative lifestyle out in California. For a while, maybe it was a year, he didn't even live in a house with plumbing. And this was AFTER his Mad Men success.

Really? Cool. I've been watching him since he was in Masterminds, as a kid. Always loved him.

I did watch that, though I tuned out early since Matt Weiner decided to dominate the entire conversation.

I had read that about VK, but he later told Variety that it was a phase he went through and he has since acquired some possessions.

I wish he would get some accolades from Golden Globes, Emmy, etc. He does a FANTASTIC job playing Pete but because Pete is written such a slimy, unlikeable character, and VK delivers him right on the money, he gets no recognition.

Man Med could campaign for "Pete" to get an Emmy nod but for some reason they don't. He is very good.

"Pete" didn't talk about his lifestyle on the Actors Studio. I read an interview he gave a while ago. I was also unclear as to why the creator of the show was on the ACTORS studio.

The little girl that plays Sally is a James Franco/January Jones in the making. She's a terrific actress but much too affected by her own talent at such a young age. I was even more impressed by her to learn she can't be at the majority of the table reads because of the inappropriate content and the child protection laws for young actors. She sort of has to slide in not knowing much about what is going on around her based on just her lines.

When she started (Kiernan Shipka is her name), her parents wouldn't even let her go to the table reads. She had to make do with only her lines and she could only be in her scenes if they were appropriate. So I give her parents props for that, and the actress props for playing the character well with so many restrictions.

Now that she's 12/13, she's able to go to the table reads. But in scenes such as the one where she sees Roger and MMe Calvet having oral sex, I'm sure it was filmed as her character opening a door and then composing the appropriate facial reaction to what she was supposed to be seeing.
