We've been watching gymnastics, swimming and soccer.

The ladies in gymnastics just blow me away - they are soooooo strong and incredibly talented. I rooted for the Ukranian woman competing in her 7th Olympics in vault - anyone who can continue to train at that level into her 40s is simply amazing.

Sweep in the womans hurdles by USA last night was exciting.

Womans beach volleyball got a bronze medal.

I agree that the womans gymnastics team put on a great show.

Only a few more days to go, I will miss this as it was a great summer distraction.

I'm sorry to say that I have almost completely ignored the Olympics this year. The most I now about it is that a couple of members of the US Men's Swim Team invented a story about being robbed and one of them is being charged. I only know about that from reading headlines.

I cannot believe that they dropped wrestling from the Olympics and replaces it with moped chasing. You think I am kidding about chasing a moped being an Olympic sport? Say hello to Keiren: Introduction to Keiren

Let me see if I can find some video. Ah, let's see if I can make this link work: Keiren video

Sorry, but I can't believe they dropped a sport that the Greeks did at the ancient Olympics so that they could fit in 6 people chasing a moped for 4 laps before a 1 or 2 lap sprint to the finish. In fact, I can't believe it took Ken Hart 2 pages to explain Keiren. I can do it in three sentences. Sit on bike while creepy guy embraces you. When the gun sounds, chase the moped but don't pass it. When the modep pulls off the track, pedal like crazy to the finish line.

Solutions? There are none. There are decisions.

Of course that is half the problem, the news outlets apparently did a bad job of reporting all of this as I have now heard 10 different versions of the story.
TBH I am not really sure which one is correct.

After Ryan Lochte apologized for what went on, another story came out that said the damage was almost nil, they ripped a picture off the wall, and that in fact the security guards did point a gun at them and demand $10,000 for the damage that they did.
So I think they did get robbed, certainly by the press, for poor reporting.

Reviving thread for WINTER OLYMPICS 2018 in South Korea

Anyone going to be watching????

Me of course I will be.

Oh and an update on my last post.

I got to officiate RYAN LOCHTE this past summer in his return to swimming after a one year suspension for all the antics of the 2016 OLYMPICS, of course being a sports junkie this is right up my alley.

Let the games Begin!

Of course - although I'm really hoping they get the Internet side right this time and allow you to just go to the sport / event you want in it's entirety rather than having to play whack-a-mole with the primetime fractured coverage that misses a massive amount of less popular sports. Like, come on, it's 2018! We live in the future! smile

Golly I have to admit it (and as a Canadian from Winnipeg, yet) I find curling pretty stupifying. Then again I find Tennis boring as well so go figure. Box Lacrosse has ruined me for even hockey lol smile

Actually, I like the curling because it is as much mental as physical. And even an untrained viewer like me can tell which stone is closest to the center. When we watch ice skating, unless they fall I have little idea which skater did best. I guess that is what makes horse racing.

But the biggest impact for me was watching the Korean skeleton guy who wears an Iron Man helmet. Now that guy is a real superhero. To me, anyone who does skeleton is impressive. Head first down the track with your chin half an inch off the ice.

I've seen ZERO curling this year, and it is basically killing me! I just have NO time... I haven't gotten to see any speed skating and just ONE hockey game (Slovakia vs Slovenia really?) No skeleton either!! These are my favorites... I cannot catch a break!

I've seen a bit of figure skating, which I do love, and otherwise every time I put it on it's SKIING! I HATE skiing! Which is probably just as well, because it's late by that time and I desperately need sleep.

I cannot believe we are in it for a medal in curling! GO USA!!!
